Why Now is the Time to Launch an International Business

March 24, 2017 Leave a Comment

Starting a business is difficult, there’s no doubt about it. From all the paperwork, legal stuff, finances, not to mention time commitment, staking your claim in today’s business world is a lot of work. For most, just the thought of the never-ending hustle is enough to throw them off. Of those who remain, the thought of an international business is even more difficult to comprehend.

However, there are great rewards for those willing to take the challenge, and the game has never been easier to play than today. There are several important reasons for which starting an international business is more manageable today than it was five, ten, or twenty years ago.

  1. Globalized Economy

One thing that has become more and more noticeable to the consumer is that we live in a globalized economy, where it has become easy to buy international products, be they technology, services, furniture, or household items. Trade agreements have been worked out over the years and companies are finding it easy to import and export their products and services world-wide.

  1. Get the Best Talent

Just because you live in a small town with limited skilled labor, it doesn’t mean that you have to move somewhere else in order to succeed. Today is it normal to hire remote workers which can do their job from anywhere in the world. The internet and co-working software has definitely helped in this regard. This also gives you an opportunity to hire people with the ideal experience and skills, even if they don’t happen to live right next door. Benefit from assembling the perfect team and working together towards a common goal.

  1. Communication

Communication is an important part of business. From making orders, to tracking shipments, or drafting agreements, being able to speak the same language and deal with things quickly means you could be in business sooner than you thought. A lot of the world speaks English now, at least to a level of proficiency, and electronic correspondence has expedited the resolution of many of the other issues.

  1. Software

When working with an international business, it is important that all the employees are on the same page, regardless of where in the world they are. Companies have developed different systems which allow employees to access real time information they need to do their job, no matter where they are. A lot of them use NetSuite to boost employee productivity by having access to all the information you need. No playing phone-tag for those promised reports, asking for access to a database, or referring a customer to yet another department. All the tools and information are there and ready to work with.

  1. Moving Money

Though we still have to deal with currency exchange which almost never works in our favor when we need it to, today’s systems of paying and collecting money is much easier than it was several years ago. Thanks to systems like PayPal, we can move money around and use it to pay suppliers, employees, and more, without incurring incredible costs like we used to through banks and services like Western Union. More and more companies are allowing payment with credit or debit card, something that was rare in less industrialized countries but readily available today.

If you have dreams of running a team of skilled employees collected from all over the world, the time to act is now. Thanks to our economy and the progress we have made in communication and software, starting and operating and international business has never been easier. Your market is greater than ever before and the sky is literally your limit regarding where you can design, produce, sell, and service your business idea.
