Who would’ve known that besides making money, meeting new people and improving your writing skill, blogging can also be good for your health? It has been known for a long time now that writing about your thoughts, life experiences, and everything in between can provide many therapeutic benefits for yourself. Research has shown that cancer patients who blog feels remarkably better, mentally and physically. It can also boost your memory and make you sleep better at night. Now, I’m not talking about staying up at 4 A.M in the morning working on your blog, that’s really not healthy at all.
As humans, we have a tendency to well…complain a lot. As a result, we take our stress out on others and most of the time destroying our relationships with the ones we love. Instead of taking it out on others, why not write about your stressful experiences on blogs? Say what you want to say and take all that stress away. I don’t recommend talking about anybody in particular, that’s not a very good idea. Talk about what you love, share your ideas, your passion. That’s what blogging is about, freedom to express and de-stress. It’s better to let it out than keep it in.
Another great reason is that you have an opportunity to work for you and yourself. Okay I said “work” and not a lot of people will like that but hear me out. Have you ever been happier working on something that is yours? It’s that feeling of accomplishment that you get every time you write. I consider that to be the best piece of advice I can give myself. So just sit back, unwind and go with the flow.
I agree that blogging can be very therapeutic, but only if you take a personal approach. There are a lot of blogs that do things so businesslike and rarely show their personal side. Those kinds probably add a lot more stress than actually help.
Yes that’s correct. Do it if you enjoy it, if not then it’ll only be another problem.
I have to agree with you…blogging can be therapeutic. I didn’t know about the research behind cancer patients. It would be nice if you could expand on it on another blog post.
Certainly Ornella 🙂
You bring up a great point, Aaron, and one that I’ve never really considered. Frankly, it’s nice to vent and sit up on a soap box for a little while. Although people may disagree with your premise, it’s still nice to have your thoughts heard.
I have always found writing down my thoughts to be a great release. Sometimes you just need to vent but do it privately at the same time.
It can be therapeutic but it can also be stressful. It is not just the writing part that us bloggers have to engage in, so we tend to have a lot on our plate. There is a pretty high burnout rate!
That’s true, but if you can control and set up a regular schedule to post, promote & comment, you shouldn’t have any problems
Blogging can be done for many purposes so we can’t bind it in a type but an open source and depends on bloggers how do they do it.
