Hung Articles of the Week #8 Happy 2012!

January 3, 2012 16 Comments

Happy 2012 everybody, hope you all had a blast. I know I did. My new year resolution is to pay off the rest of our credit cards by the end of 2012, and so far, we are right on track. We’re trying to save up for a down payment on a house in the process so it’s tough but I think we can manage. I know the rule about paying off all your debts first before saving but it doesn’t hurt to have some kind of emergency funds right? We decided to not use our credit cards at all if possible(easier said than done) and rely more on the debit card to keep our debts under control.

Thanks for including our little blog, Aaron! My head still hurts from New Years…apparently I did something to cause a headache…not sure what that would be. It sounds like 2012 is going to be an exciting year for the Hung family. Cheers.

Nothing wrong with saving if you have a goal in mind, it will likely make you more motivated anyway. Good luck with your goals this year, I’m sure you can get there. Thanks for including my article!

Thank you so much for the mention. It is very tough to be paying off debt while trying to save up. We are in the same boat and so far we are paying off much better than saving. Good Luck!

Thanks for including me Aaron! My only goal right now is to figure out what awful illness(es) I picked up over the past few days.

Having an emergency fund is a great thing even while you’re still in debt. I haven’t had an emergency fund as such for the past year or so, but after I finished my creditcard debt it was the first thing I saved for…. I ended up having to use it the month after I got my first $1000 together… good thing I had it! Good luck kicking the creditcard debt this year

Aaron, I am also concern about paying my credit cards payment, rather trying to pay them as early. Just want to get out out of this scam.
