After every feast there comes a famine, and in the wake of the extravagant gift giving, feasting and guzzling of fine wine that Christmas entails, comes the spartan relief of New Year and the opportunity to cut costs and ease the financial burden the festive season has lumbered you with, through such things as getting cheap home insurance from a company such as Castle Cover.
It’s Cheap Because It’s Competitive
Unfortunately, in the era which we live, many people perceive cheaper alternatives as not fulfilling the same role as their more expensive counterparts. This is not always the case and
cheap house insurance does not mean cheap cover.
Make Sure You Insure
The importance of having good quality insurance for your home cannot be stressed enough. What many people without home insurance fail to realise is you don’t have to spend a fortune on it and it is possible to get comprehensive insurance at a reasonable price.
A house is usually the most expensive thing you will ever own and If you have a mortgage, house insurance is usually a standard requirement. In the event of a disaster such as flood, fire, or earthquake, house insurance will cover the repair or rebuilding work necessary to return your house to full working order
You can get a combined household buildings and contents policy, but standard house insurance does what it said on the label – insures the building, and prices vary, so it’s well worth shopping around.
It’ll Never Happen
Most homeowners believe they’ll never have to call on their house insurance, and thankfully the majority of us don’t, but for those times when it is needed, home insurance proves invaluable to cover the costs of accidents which would be beyond most people’s financial reach.
Cover All Bases
The cheaper house insurance providers cover just as much as those with more expensive premiums, but the necessary risks you always need to ensure are covered, consist of the damage caused by storms, flooding, and water leakage from burst pipes and other sources.
Evidently the terrible devastation which fire can cause also needs to be covered, but so too does the damage wrought by the invasive nature of smoke and the potential risk of gas explosions. Subsidence of your property and the vandalism which can be caused by third parties should also be taken into consideration when choosing your cover.
The overall sum of your house insurance should always accommodate the full rebuilding cost of your property in case the worst case scenarios occur.
Don’t Dig Deep, Go Cheap
If you treasure your house, you’ll want to take out insurance on it in case of any foreseeable disasters. Opting for cheaper cover is not a cheap alternative, it’s a sensible one. Cheap house insurance affords you peace of mind in knowing that your home is just as comprehensively covered as it can be, leaving you free to spend a little more money on other things – such as Christmas 2012.
We used a broker to find our house insurance plan and it worked really well. They found us a really good deal that still covered everything we wanted. The cheap plans are out there you just have to spend the time looking for them.
You can get it cheaper even with the same insurer (for the same insurance plan). We paid a small fortune for years till we looked around and found a cheaper one. When my husband told our insurer about it their answer was: ‘We can do that.’ What mugs, us this is.
I found out that after being married, my insurance got cheaper too so that’s a plus
I shop insurance every couple of years. I usually compare the same coverage and look for the lowest prices. The only subjective issue is the quality of the service.
I shop insurance via the net ever year. I also use a broker and leverage any results found to lower my insurance with my current provider. Works like a charm
I ended up going back to the insurance provider i had many years ago who raised my premium, but now they’re good..so who knows 🙂
When we bought our new home, our mortgage broker found us a great deal on home insurance. I have to learn to shop around more and not just go with what I have been using in the past.
Quality of service is often the most difficult to judge, but these days you can usually check reviews online for almost any service. like to check my rates every couple of years like @Krantcents, about time I did actually…
That’s true, I check reviews for anything I buy online now, even for a little memory card hehe
I used to sell homeowners insurance and yes I can agree that most homeowners think they will never need to make a claim. When the time comes it can be stressful because you need your issue fixed now! Understanding your coverage and trusting your agent can go a long way in the home insurance process.
We have been with the same insurance company for a very long time. I have called several companies for comparison quotes over the years and have never been able to find a better deal.
If I ever get a house one day, I can’t imagine not getting good homeowner’s insurance. I have the worst luck, and something very bad would happen. It’s nice to know that inexpensive doesn’t mean lower quality in this area. 🙂
