I was sitting in my office(my room) at home the other night and looking through my emails, Facebook and browsing other Yakezie member’s fascinating blogs and then it dawned on me and I couldn’t help but wonder if blogging will ever die out like MySpace? Personally, I think it’s just starting to gain momentum and we are at the right time. Blogging started to spread way back in 1999 and that was around the time when the Internet was also gaining momentum, that was when more people were purchasing personal computers and being able to go online. As of 2011, there are more than 160 million blogs in existence, that says a lot and as long as the internet exist; blogging will continue to be the way for people to express and share their knowledge to others.
Here’s one of the reasons why blogging will never die. With social services like Facebook, Twitter and among many others where people can get together; more and more people will be able to use those services as vehicles to guide others to their sites or blogs. This in turn creates more strength and effectiveness of blogging. If you have thousands of fans or friends on Facebook, one little update with your URL and boom! instant viewers; you can get your message across to many different people around the world with these social outlets.
Of course, I’m just talking about the general idea of blogging, the question if YOUR blog will ever die out or not is another story and one that is entirely up to you. I personally think that blogging about yourself is one way ticket to fail, you have to blog for others. You can still blog about yourself of course but think about how it will help others, it has to serve a purpose for others. If you talk about going to the mall and buying this & buying that and how you’re going to look so good then I don’t know what to tell you but nobody cares. Instead, talk about how you much you saved or where you got your coupons from when going to the mall. Be original, serve a purpose.
No matter how you look at it, blogging will never fade out because there will always be readers and there will always be people trying to improve themselves and it’s up to you to serve their needs, the more you help them, the more they’re going to come back and ask for more and in returns, you get more traffic, more readers, more recognitions and more opportunities to even improve yourselves. You signed up to be a blogger so go out there and do the job right and serve a purpose.
